DROWNING POOL Turned Away At Canadian Border
May 12, 2004In what appears to be an alarming trend, DROWNING POOL are the latest act to have been turned away at the Canadian border, forcing the group to cancel shows. The Texas band were due to kick off a short run of dates with DAMAGEPLAN north of the border beginning on Tuesday (May 11),but were apparently denied entry for reasons that have not been made clear. In an online posting, DROWNING POOL bassist Stevie Benton wrote, "Oh Canada! Why won't you let us in? It seems the people at the border don't like the looks of us. Perhaps they feel we would corrupt the Canadian youths. We were very much looking forward to doing just that. We promise to keep trying to get in. Maybe later this summer. We're very sorry to anyone we disappointed. Much love to all of you up there."
